About Me
I earned my Ph.D. from Indiana University and taught English and Women’s & Gender Studies for many years before retiring to write full time. In addition to the book Sacred Groves, I have published shorter creative nonfiction in literary journals such as Imitation Fruit, Ray’s Road Review, and South Loop Review and in an anthology as well.
I am also a visual artist, working in photography and mixed media. For several years, I was a member of Insight Studio, a darkroom co-op; now I enjoy working exclusively with digital photography. For the Sacred Groves project, I traveled to over fifty cemeteries all over Ohio and beyond, taking thousands of photographs, some of which are included in the book.
I live in Columbus, Ohio with my husband, Lynn, also an artist and a musician, and our incorrigible Welsh Corgi, Robby.
